As you guys should know, I have multiple piercings. Before I had these, I did a lot of research of what I was letting myself into, what to expect, what was the optimal jewellery and how to care for my piercing. However, there are somethings that I definitely not know after getting my piercing done, and I had to learn the hard way. These things you may have known already prior to getting a piercing, but me on the other hand, did not!

They Will Get Caught/Bumped | No matter how cautious you are it will happen eventually. It may be not even by your hand but by other people!

Getting Dressed is Harder Than You Thought | Carefully manoeuvring your head through a hole and not allowing you ear to touch the edges is harder than it seems. Even if you try your hardest it may get bumped.

Getting a Haircut | I did it and the hairdresser nearly ripped my piercing out so...tell your hairdresser to be careful.

The Healing Process Is a Bitch | I thought it would not be as bad as everyone made it out to be, but let me tell you now it is the longest tedious process ever. Every time you get it caught or bumped, that increases your healing time.

Certain Piercings Are Very Hard To Clean | Depending on how your ear is shaped seeing as everyones ears are different. But some piercings e.g. the rook, getting in to the nook and crannies are very hard..and earwax build up is gross but so satisfying to get rid of (sorry if that was gross)

Earphones?| Certain Piercings will block where you place your earphones e.g. tragus/daith.

You Will Need To Find a New Sleeping Position | If you always sleep on your left and then you get a piercing on your left you may have to sleep different. It is not recommend to sleep on your piercing especially when it is healing! I now sleep on my arm by bending it and then putting my ear through the hole..if that makes sense..

One Step at a Time | You are not going to land the perfect job instantly. You will get there in good time, baby steps!

Create Realistic Goals | You have to accept that fact that you may not get your dream job straight away. Start small.

Broaden Your Outlook | Do not limit yourself. Don't let your academic credentials hold you back by letting you think that you cannot excel in any other field. You can do whatever you want, it will just take time and commitment.

Get Organised | Plan, plan, plan. Take notes and start researching about things you want to do. Having a list and ticking things off will help you keep everything in order.

Express Yourself | If you're angry be angry, if you're sad be sad! Do not bottle your emotions up because it is extremely self destructive. Talk to people if you have to!

New Interests/Hobbies | Being fixated on one topic will be exhausting and repetitive. By going out doing new things and learning new things, you will feel overall much happier, as opposed to being sat at home doing nothing! It can be just as simple as reading books!

I have been eyeing the Pixi Glow Tonic and Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate for the longest time! They are not exactly wallet friendly, however the other day I decided to take the plunge and buy both.

Happy new year everyone! It is finally 2016 and I am going to be very cliché and say that 2015 has absolutely flown by. I finished my dissertation, I graduated and now I'm searching for a job. I thought it would be fun to share some of my resolutions this year, so here they are.


Drink More Water | I feel like I have increased my water intake greatly over the past year, but I would love to drink more because I still feel like it isn't enough.

Get A Job | Yes, being unemployed sucks, so I hope to get a job soon, especially before I go back into more education.

Wake Up Earlier/Sleep Earlier | I sleep at ridiculous times in the morning (3am) and I always wake up at 12pm, which to be honest is a whole waste of a morning. So, I will try to start sleeping earlier so I can wake up earlier.

Blog More | I feel like I have been slacking in blogging, so I will try my best to blog more about everything and nothing!

Improve My Skincare Routine | Every morning and night I wash, tone, oil, serum and moisturise my face, but I would like to add a few more steps into my skincare routine to improve my skin, because I have so many scars and my skin is extremely uneven.
